Hey freaky flower fans! A rare species from one of my favorite genera. Growing upwards of 10’, with three-lobed shiny leaves, this fast evergreen vine flowers whenever the temperatures are high. The blooms are pitcher shaped, and dark brown with stripes, and the “lid” of the pitcher has an elongated tail that is in excess of 12” long!! Native to Brazil, this species requires good drainage, added compost, and regular water for best appearance, and may look frail if these things aren’t provided. Frost will definitely damage the plant, but it’s very vigorous and recovers quickly. Some people say it has an offensive odor, but I’ve never noticed!
